Originally from Wakayama Prefecture in Japan, discovered by spontaneous mutation yolk on a Washington Navel tree.

The tree is prone to produce chimeras, and in California, where it is grown extensively, presents incompatibility graft it on trifoliate patterns, most notably on Citrange C35.

Its fruits are very attractive rounded shape, good size, and presented as all varieties of the group navel a belly button (navel in English) external, although this variety is not always noticeable externally, and corresponds in the interior, in the pulp with a second built in the first, which sometimes reaches the equatorial fruit frutito.

Its bark is red, very intense and attractive color when it reaches full maturity, and is not prone as Navelina to skin problems like "creasing".
